Our friends at the Academy of Art College graciously asked us to lend a skilled hand for their fashion show supporting the San Francisco Historical Society and we were happy to join the cause. Moises gathered his edgiest team to create the runway ponytail, a look that is not as easy as it seems.

NYFW Fall 2013 |February 2012
Newly anointed Creative Director Moises Villa faces the blizzard like conditions at his umpteenth New York Fashion Week and shows us how it's done. Black and white seemed to be the dominating theme when it came to the clothing accompanied by sexy bedhead and sophisticated chignons. Fashion Week stylist newcomer and diPietro Todd educator Amy Hsueh also contributed this season on the Rene Furterer team.

diPietro Todd teamed up with with L'Oréal Professionnel to present creative applications of INOA, L'Oréal Professionnel's premium immonia-free hair color. While the shows main focus was color experimentation, the dPT creative team also presented the latest in cutting and styling. Each segment had it's own personality that came together through diPietro Todd's strong collective of ideas. As Akemi our Creative Director said during the presentation: "We're really all just a bunch of Hair Geeks!"

We seriously had to pinch ourselves when Kirsten Magrini (Senior Business Manager for L'Oreal Professional- West) asked us if we would like to send two hairdressers to participate in Fashion Week for Gwen Stephanie's L.A.M.B clothing line. Gwen the "No Doubt" rock star is the new face for INOA, L'Oreal's new premier color product and the look for her spring show was fresh, young and sophisticated. We sent Akemi, our Creative Director, along with her Assistant Creative Director, Moises Villa, and they were part of a team of hairdressers responsible for creating the loose, sexy, sweet upstyles with braids and chignons. All in all, it was a great experience we'll never forget.

Our development students put on a great show this year at their annual soirée titled: Curtain Call. The students produced the entire show from concept to costumes to choreography. This years show was inspired by the late Alexander Mcqueen, and was a juxtaposition of light (hard) and dark (soft). Images by Kristin Smith and Cynthia Wood.

Collective V2 pulled inspirations from vintage glamour, light and dark, vibrant tribal prints, and unique street wear. The show was able to raise over $2,500 to benefit the Altruist Project, a group of hairdressers that improve the lives of those in need by doing what they do best.
