Merria Dearman
Merria Dearman‘s extensive career in the hair industry began with a fervent passion for and a strong commitment to film, print, and theater work. After receiving her cosmetology license, Merria trained with award winning educators and creative directors in California‘s prominent Sonoma County. As a full-time stylist, Merria won several prestigious awards, but her enthusiasm for further education prevailed. Merria attended Vancouver Film School where she received a degree in film and television makeup artistry. In addition, Merria also excelled at wig construction, including the making of lace hairpieces, hand laid hair, and bald caps for stage and film. As a result of her unique and unrivaled expertise and talent, Merria has worked as a freelance wig maker, hairstylist, and makeup artist for California Shakespeare Theater, Xanadu Productions, The History Channel, Pete Thompson Photography, American Conservatory Theater, and Berkeley Reparatory Theater. In addition to her involvement in theater, Merria has helped build the foundation of diPietro Todd Salon‘s newest location in Walnut Creek as a stylist and wig and hairpiece expert.
